Apr. 25th, 2011 03:34 pm(a) I'm considering, vaguely, seeing a career counselor. Partly for the novelty, it's true.
(b) "Counsel" is giving advice, and "council" is a legal body. I plan to associate "counsel" with "advise", so that I can ever &%($ remember the difference.

It is cold like cold outside. 23°F, feels like -2, likely due to the 30mph winds (with gusts up to 38mph).
Dear sweet jesus. At least I finished my scarf, and bought gloves (for a dollar, yay).

No, no, "alternate" is still a word, and "alternative" should be used fewer often, thank you.

Honestly, part of why I don't use Facebook is all of the gotdamn fiddly bits are overwhelming. Requests and updates and statuses and applications and GNAH. I could spend a while learning how to use this, but then I will have spent time learning to use Facebook.

Basically, I read like I work.
Jan. 1st, 2008 11:01 amAmazon Book Time Cost
"This script lets you know exactly how long it will take you to read the book and displays the "time cost" right above the list price of the book (see image). This script will work for any book on Amazon that allows you to "search inside this book". This is needed for a "Text Stats" link to be available which lists the word count of the book."
My problem is, my wpm reading rate varies depending on the text. Is it comedy? Dense philosophy? A computer manual? What? But, according to this, I read at around 750-800 wpm. And of course I was skimming a bit - I wanted a realistic-for-me rate. I got the message anyways.
Also, if you search on Amazon and library at userscripts.org, you get a whole bunch of scripts that are for finding a book in a variety of libraries. It can't be that hard to get any one of them and change it a bit for your local library.
