Me being me, naturally I spaced on writing anything yesterday. *amused*

Yesterday, I was grateful for my therapist. Yesterday was my last session with him, by my request – I've been doing fine, plus we could both use the money (I was paying less because I'm broke more, so). He is absolutely the wonderful, and I would clone him if I could.

- I've added a plug-in that allows you, the reader, to subscribe to comments. I approve.

- I need to kick the font sizing around a bit. I don't like that it's teeny. I also want that "font size smaller/larger" thing, yes I do. (Why? Because.)

#1: .pdf Unofficial Ballot Returns – November 4, 2008 General Election – Oregon

I will be dropping off my ballot tomorrow, most likely, at which point I will become a statistic. *pleased*

#2: Copied from a comment I made here: "Some day, when I have time and infinite money, I want to devise something like Oh No Robot (comic strip transcription thing) for online videos and podcasts.  Maybe a wiki or something, so that anyone can contribute easily."

For example, Amanda at Pandagon posted a video in this post. So you you grab the URL from the YouTube video and plug it in at The Site(r). It grabs the video ID from the URL and redirects you to a page that has the current transcript for that video. If there's no transcript, you can create one, &c &c.

(For Vimeo videos, you can right-click on the title to copy the link. Hulu I don't know, I can't get videos to load for that one. Google Video, you can go to the GV page directly, then copy the URL.)

Hrm.

In arguing with someone about abortion statistics, I found a million useful links.  I am reposting them here for future use.

* Facts on Induced Abortion in the United States (05/2006)

* "Expenditures on Children by Families provides estimates of the cost of raising children from birth through age 17 for major budgetary components."

* Volume 3 – Federal Pell Grant Program of the 2003-2004 FSA Handbook

This one is for the argument that there is a grant available for students who need assistance, such as, oh, pregnant college students.  Combine the grant with the costs of raising a child…

* 2006-07 College Costs

So what you do is, you take the average yearly college costs, add in the average Pell Grant amount, and subtract the costs of having a kid.  Factor in things like the Pell Grant amount is based on a full academic year; the amount goes down based on the level of attendance.  And then add the part where you're pregnant, dealing with college, filling out scads of paperwork, and assuming that everything comes out aces.

* Get "In the Know": 20 Questions About Pregnancy, Contraception and Abortion

* The Effects of Early Childbearing On Schooling over Time (Nov/Dec 2001)

* Poorest U.S. Women Increasingly Likely To Face Unintended Pregnancies (5/4/2006)

* Abortion in the US Fact Sheet (.pdf)

* Domestic violence against women in pregnancy
