Mm, sneepy cat is sneepy.

I can't separate Dresden-the-books from Dresden-the-show.  I keep seeing elements from the book, done... mehly.  I can see all the stories that fuel the episodes, and so the episodes are kind of pale and loosely strung together.  And yet, I keep watching!  I am perplexed.

I have washed yet another batch of yarn.  Merino yarn feels mildly soapy even before soap.  Acrylic homespun stuff is simple - squeeze and go, no worry about felting.  I fret for my gorgeous periwinkle cotton yarn, but I knew I'd fret, so I threw a smallish hank in with the wash.  I'm using this eco-friendly mild-as-mild detergent and lukewarm water, then cool water to rinse.  I got permission to hang it all on the curtain rod overnight - after that point, I can usually safely put it on a plastic hanger somewhere.  I need to investigate, make sure I'm not doing something wrong, but it's going well.

Heee, back to WKRP.  *pats Hulu*  I like Andy.  And the Doctor.  I kind of almost want a mood icon set for this.  I'm sure it exists already.  I haven't looked yet.

...except the music is different.  ...?  Am I going to be very very irritated?

...

*irritated*

Today, on "If I looked around more, maybe I'd learn things faster": Hulu.com.  Which has episodes of TV shows and things and stuff.  I just turned a whooole bunch of yarn into skeins for washing whilst watching a couple of episodes of Dresden Files - still has the occasional commercial, but I'm okay with that.

[eta] Man, okay, Dresden Files the TV show is like DF-the-book lite.  Lite lite.

I have this inexplicable urge to watch all of Full House.

You know, I feel kind of dirty for liking the show "Dexter".

Entertainingly, Angel, the second forensics guy, is played by David Zayas, who also played Javier, the first client in "Burn Notice", which is also set in Miami.  I guess he likes it there.

My impression of Torchwood, at s1.ep10 inclusive, is that it's surprisingly human.

Dear [livejournal.com profile] onceupon:

You chose... wisely.

We just watched episodes 1-6 this weekend.

Awww, poor Daleks!

There may or may not be spoilers to this.  I'm comparing Dresden Files the show to the books.  I cut anyways.

[eta] I reference the books a lot to compare things, and I've read all the books.  (Twice.)  Sooo yeah.  Spoiler alert, or at least "You may or may not get it if you haven't read that far" alert.

(I mean, I read books 8 and 9 before ever reading the others.  I'm not a spoiler-worrying person.)

I've only seen 5 eps, but don't worry about spoiling it for me.  I'm kinky; I like that sort of thing.

Comparison. )

More later, once I watch more and/or wake up.

With the power of the library and the internet, I can now be annoyed within a week!

I read all available books on Dresden Files in the past week; I'm now watching the first ep.

- Uncle??
- Brunette??
- Laura??
- British??
- Tall??
- Jeep??

I'm not sure yet.  Mmph.

I met a guy at a bus stop... months and months ago.  And he was neat, and I kept kicking myself for not having gotten some contact info.

Today at work, Seniorguy talked up this show "The IT Group" to me - I'd never heard of it before.

Today on the bus ride home, the guy showed up (it's his route home too), and we nattered, and I got not only his email address, but a burnt DVD containing three CDs of "The IT Group".  (He had a spare.)

Life is weird in manageable doses, and that's fine.

Ah, NBC.com, bless you for airing your shows for free online.

A quick thing:

Thompson, the boss of Glasses-Guy (who is the adoptive father of Claire), is played by Eric Roberts, who is the pimp fellow in the video "Mr Brightside" (YouTube) by The Killers.

THERE.

Heroes: .07% - brief. )

Heroes, 11 through 18. )

In conclusion, I'm now all caught up with Heroes, and can WAIT IMPATIENTLY with the rest of you lot.  Moreso than; we don't have real TV.  *whimpers*

Shtuff.

* I'm typing this from MY LAPTOP, which is of the happy.  I backed things up, uninstalled a bunch of crap, installed a bunch of different crap, and patted it.  Hoo-freakin'-ray.

* New friends list link - "Tell a friend".  Since, uh, 90% of yall are here, I'd prefer it link to update.bml, but whatevs.

* I got a new pot and some soil ("some") for Mr. Planty, who is growing like a plant owned by someone else does.  Bizarre!

* Hooray, more Heroes!

* Hooray, more yarn!  I miscalculated the amount of yarn for this commission, so B blessedly bought more yarn for me (I still have unhappy bank foo, and I could send elann.com a money order and buy from credit, but they only had 13 balls left, so).  *pats knitted teef*

* Weird question, mostly for those who do crafting commissions - have you ever tried to sell someone an idea, because you have this great idea for something they'd like?
