zuzu at Feministe asks a great question:

Why is this not called terrorism?

In other news, go ye forth and read this speech given by Emmeline Pankhurst in 1913.

Huh.  Apparently and recently, Gaim (the lovely open-source chat software) is changing its name to Pidgin.

Somebody replaced my uterus with sandpaper.  I can totally tell the difference.

While I am writhing in pain, I ask for your input:

What do you need/want/like on your Windows box?

(I'm looking to flesh out my new-computer del.icio.us tag.  And getting all service packs and updates is an assumed step.)

* At I Blame The Patriarchy, Twisty pens some notes on the revolution:

Do you guys get, I mean actually get, that our society is a patriarchy?

* There's a post over at Bitch Ph.D. from August 2005 (hey, I'm catching up) about misogyny in real life.  The post is good; the comments are better.  I'm about 30 comments in, and this quote hit my ah-ha!-o-meter:

It's using a male default as the standard and then because (well, duh) women are different from that standard, we are found lacking.
- Sarah In Chicago

* What's fun is combining the two with the question: How many anecdotes, how much data, will it take before it stops being a whole lot of women just having really bad luck?  I ask you.

After coffee, food, and a couple of ibuprofen, I think I'm no longer inclined to throw up due to pain.  So, I'm going to go either to a park or a cafe to knit some more, after I rearrange Magic's little cat cove such that the sun isn't directly hitting her shaved spot.

FASCINATING SHIT I write about here, I know.

Here is the workbook I'm using to track my progress.  I'd like it better if I could show yall the formulas, but they're fairly straight-forward, I suppose.

Display = status, due date, and projected end date.
Tracking = all stats, all the time.
Pattern = the pattern, and which row I'm on (based on # of sections completed).

I could have drilled it down further to # of sts per section (one is 12, one is 21), but lordy, I didn't want to get too granular.  *straight face*  I'd love it if in the future Google could allow for special fonts, but I don't think installing the knitting font is really high on their prioritah list.

Anyways.  If this is useful enough to someone, I'll send over the workbook so's you can see/use the formulas.  Else I'll just leave this up as further proof of my INTENSE DORKLITUDINIOUSNESS.
