So I've got this friend Devan Pander, and she works crazy hard to keep afloat her private animal shelter, Humane Friends, which you can read more about here. At the moment, Devan is in something of a bind. Here, I'll just cut-and-paste her plea:You can help out kittens, just by fostering for a few weeks (for the definition of "a few" that's anywhere from 2 weeks to 10 weeks). She'll try to help out with food and litter. She's in the Georgia area, and I know I have some friends on my list who are in that area.
""My rescue is in a position that we can rescue a number of kittens from a county shelter int he Atlanta area. No one else really rescues from this shelter so the shelter has made it clear that when their shipment of 'gas' comes in, they will be euthanizing over 20 kittens.
I do not have room to house them in my shelter at the moment. I am overflowing. I would love to be able to help these guys though so I was hoping I could get some volunteers to foster the kittens for at least 2 weeks and some up to 10 weeks. When you foster for me I provide all vet care and try to assist on food and litter. If you can help with food and litter, all the better. If not we will make it work. Please, can anyone help and foster a litter of kittens for Humane Friends Rescue? (me)"
Devan lives in Suwannee, Georgia, not terribly far from Atlanta.
If there's anyone within driving distance who could offer her a fostering hand, that would be swell. My fellow Chattanoogans? You peeps in Gainesville, GA? Anyone? Anyone?
Devan is as good as her word, believe me.
I know her IRL and she is every bit as dedicated as she sounds.
Contact her through her (mostly friends-only) LJ,xsyntrik [email: xsyntrik @ livejournal.com], if you can lend a hand. Just think of it: kittens. Adorable, fluffy baby cats, yours for the fostering. Temporary or permanent. Can you take a chance and open your home for even a couple of weeks?
Help?
[btw: feel free to link and/or spread this around. Devan's getting desperate.]
