I had an American girlfriend, who was originally from Virginia. She was mixing me a drink and said, "Do you want that with soda?"

"No, I'll have Coke in that," I said.

"That's what I said," she said, "what kind of coke do you want?"

"Regular coke," I said, quizically.

"Coke coke?"

"Yes. Didn't you ask me if I wanted soda water with that?"

"Do you mean seltzer water?"

Apparently it's the same language.
