Today, I am pleased with myself because I totally used sftp to put a couple of images up on this server I have access to, without referring even once to any FAQs.

You have never seen pretty and awesome until you've seen Northern Kings covering "Take On Me", live, in nearly matching outfits.

(Left to right, for my own notes: Juha-Pekka Leppäluoto, Tony Kakko, Jarkko Ahola, and Marco Hietala.)

I am as serious as a serious thing.

Aaa!  We got it!  The apartment!  We got the apartment!  We move in Sep. 1!  Aaa!

I'm sure I had more to say, but I need to find a paper bag and hyperventilate now.

Aaa!

I just put some more money in my ING account, for savings.  This'll go towards apartment-shopping.

Huh.  Go me.

Oh!  Amarok does labelling!  <3  Alas, it's not for Windows, but this move will get me my Ubuntu box back, so that's okay.  *pats it*

(If I could figure out why needing to enter my admin password on Ubuntu doesn't bug me, but UAC does, that'd be fab.)

And it has last.fm support!  Oh!  Graphy!  <3 <3 <3

A page in my wiki contains all the hardware I have (mice, computers, monitors, &c), links to the pages, manuals, and links to drivers.  I'm a dork.

I made a BoxedUp.com account, for holding things I want, like music, or parts for my poor laptop, or things, or stuff.  Very convenient.

The scrobbler graphing thing is starting to get my recent data.  So far, unsurprisingly, I like Muse a bit.

I just forced myself to update my tracker, even though I did that buying-not-looking again.  (I bought jeans and a bag.  I only have two pairs of jeans, so I wanted another, and I have been missing my smallish over-the-shoulder bag for months and months, and it was both utterly perfect and in front of me.)

They're not even exact numbers yet, I'm going based on what I recall having done.  I just plugged in what I could, and put in the balance email, and no shit was all gasping at the end of it.

...and I just checked my account balance in the site, which is always off from the email, due to holds and things.  It's way less than the last email and than my tracker's balance, but I was expecting this due to the reconciled balance.

So, dear self: that felt damn good, to check your balance and not freak out because you know, totally know, better.  Remember that.

Yesterday, I picked the raisins out of a box of Raisin Bran while watching The Mummy I and II.  Today, I donated blood, then took advantage of a sale to get five sweaters, a skirt, and some hangers for $10 (!!!!!), and now am going to eat food and watch The Scorpion King until I pass right out.  For lord lord, I am so tired.

I had a lovely dream of flying.  I am tying it to this one hand gesture, that I don't do in real life, but it's nice to have an anchor, as it were.  The flowers in the trees smelled lovely.

It's a good day.

[livejournal.com profile] murnkay requested that people post about fantastic things.  So:

I am alive, I have most of my health, it's a nice day out, there are myriad sparkly bits in my life (blue nail polish, wikis, happy plants), and gosh darn it, people like me.

Also, Weird Al put a reversed message into his song "Nature Trail To Hell": "Satan eats Cheez Whiz!"

There.

[eta] Also, userpic.

God, everything feels great today.  Clearly I need to live in a warmer climate, or something - heat doesn't bother me nearly as much as cold does, assuming that both are outside my control.

- I may have an interview next week for a job involving work I love doing and very little customer interaction.

- I did 12 triceps extensions (both hands holding one 10lb dumbbell) today!  And 14 reps per arm for the dumbbell curls!  *pants*

- Oh my goodness, it's like I don't think I could love Muse more than I already do, and I am always wrong.

- I'm researching hang gliding.  I can fly in my dreams, have I mentioned?  I have improved my flying skills in my dreams as time has gone on.  The closest I can get in real life is hang gliding, so I am going to do it.  I just need a good primer .pdf somewhere.

- I am still not smoking.  I am still rockstar.

- I.  Do I want to learn wrestling techniques?  Would that be cheating?  (Don't ask.)

Okay.  I'm going to go make myself some iced chai stuff and then bounce off the walls for a few hours.

Today's little joys:

- Finding exactly what I want in two separate stores within 5 minutes of entering.
- Getting a new pair of work shoes to last the next 4 years.
- Beer.
- Getting that Greasemonkey script up and running, finally.

I am listing good things today.

- Coffee.
- I cut down our db from 200k contacts to 194k, just by removing duplicates.
- MS CRM 4.0 will be so much awesomer than 3.0.  I'm concerned about our agents, but it should be fine.
- Fluffy boucle acrylic nonsense stuff knits up amazingly fast.
- grat.uito.us, the repository for my library reading list, among other things.
- Ideas to knit a different wreath-thing for each season.  Truly, I am a suburbanite.
- I've just acquired infinite reading material.
- I'm not shaking or sick today.  So that's an improvement.
- Oh holy heavens I want a hamster wall cityHee hee hee.

I am focusing on the positive, dammit.

- Ocho is still hissy beast about the kitties, but she does come downstairs and she explores a bit.  In fact, even when I touch her in a way she doesn't like (I misapprehended her level of comfort), she just gets growly and I stop, and then she's fine.  She apparently is a kitty wanting of respect, which is, to be fair, hard to come by from babies.  And her gravel-mrrts?  Adorable.

Related: You know, I keep expecting Ocho to turn out to be terrible in some unforseen fashion, and so far, she's still less weird than my Magic was.  I mean, Magic would paw paper to wake me up to feed her.  Ocho has currently not done anything to trump that, and she licks repetitiously enough to take skin off.  (Unless I, yknow, move.)

- Ha, okay, so, I was on the bus, and some guy sat next to me and started singing something (under his breath, I mean) about the rain (can't remember the title), then mentioned that he does crochet (since I was knitting a pink-and-purple thing).  We got into a convo wherein which it was revealed that (a) he goes to the same bar B and I go to for karaoke and (b) I'm probably hitting the cue ball too hard, which is more likely why I suck at bank shots.  Huh!

- Sake.  I may be becoming an alcoholic, but at least I'm not drinking PBR.

- Installing Instiki can be complicated, but I'm knowledgeable enough to totally do it.  Now, what I'd use it for at home escapes me at the moment, but at work, it's fantastic for procedure notes, QA process notes, and general KB stuff.

- I may be in on the ground floor of something.  Crypticism abounds.

- I have almost acquired the ability to stop before starting a new project.  Almost.  Mine still sneak in under this weird "absolved" status.  I want to work on that.

- An otherwise quiet house.

- A full version of Duke Nukem 3D.
