Regardez-vous, Sophie's favourite position:

She loves putting her head in my hand and her feet on my arm. She is very startled when people touch her back, so when I give her pattins, I try to show her first that my hand is there. She's a doofus and a cutie-pie.

I followed a link to some really good fic about Susan Pevensie, by [personal profile] cofax7, plus follow-up discussion.  (The link goes to the cut-tag area on purpose.)  From there, I found Ana Mardoll, and then through there I found [livejournal.com profile] limyaael.

I am entirely in hearts with overthinking things.

Every morning when I go to work, I pop into McD's to get coffee and hash browns.  The bus drops me off on the opposite side of the street, at the crosswalk.  Bus-side, there's also a blackberry hive (I don't know the proper term for "an infestation of blackberries"), and someone put a blue tarpaulin out, to provide cover for two stray kitties.

Here's Smoky!  I usually buy them a sausage muffin with no cheese, if I see them when I get off the bus.  Because kittehs.

Someone posted a series of comparison photos of herself at different periods of her exercising, to show the difference in how the weight looks on her.

How is this different from every other day?

Frequently, though she looks thinner, there is little to no difference in weight.  She even compares herself with some other folk (all in one photo), for a "what's the weight distribution here" pop quiz.

It's useful as a way to concretise existing knowledge.

It's been photo-sharing tiems lately, apparently, so have one of me as a pirate.  I can't remember how old I was, tbh.

'Embed Media' is new to me.

Anyways.  I am "shopping" for a digital camera.  I ask you, O Internets, to assist.  Basically, I want a goddamn point-and-shoot camera, that is good with details (since I'll be taking pics of yarn and knitting), compatible with Windows, has decent storage capacity, zooms in/out fairly well, and won't run out of batteries in under two seconds.  Ideally on the low end of the price scale - this is basic stuff, after all.

*reads up a bit*  A lot of what I want this for is static stuff (yarn, kitty, &c).  I don't need or want a movie-recordery-thing.  It should have a flash built in.  Auto-focusing would be awesome.  It must accept rechargeable batteries.  Natch, it should have a power cable.  I wouldn't mind a timer, but that's a feature, not a must.  It does not at all need to have image modifying things on the camera itself, nor should it have the ability to print to a colour printer.

In conclusion, I would love for it to either have its own software or have it interact nicely with the software I have, or something.  Hell, it can be read as a drive in Windows Explorer for all I care, so long as I can copy/erase more than one image at a time, and I don't have to scour the internet to find the software.

What say you?

Alternately, is there a good brandless digital camera quiz-like thing where I can do this myself?
