+ The Alt-Tab and Start-Tab functions just got hotter.

- Someone accidentally inhaled all things regarding networking, then sneezed all over the screen.

~ They changed the Start > Programs menu from the menu>submenu>&c thing to something more like the folders pane of Windows Explorer.  On the one hand, it seems cramped.  On the other hand, it's less likely that I'll have to be particular about where the mouse drifts to, when I'm selecting a folder or accidentally letting go of the mouse button.  On the third hand, I'm accustomed to rearranging programs and folders to be more like how I want it, and I don't trust it right now.

+ I kind of like this sidebar thingie.  I have the sliding picture show gadget, and I threw in there a bunch of nature pics from images.google so that I'm constantly reminded of where I should be.

+ I like the moving snapshot that's displayed when I mouse over a window entry in the Taskbar.

- I have to download and install a file from MS in order to display *.hlp files.

- I... I have an administrator account... and yet, I still have to run things as administrator.  Why?

~ Windows Explorer is now doing, and I don't know the real name for this, smart folder names.  Kind of like Macs do, really - instead of "C:\Users\Christina\Documents", I see "> Christina > Documents >", and each of those arrows are clickable, showing other folders at that level.  Thankfully, when I hit Alt-D, the address bar shows the real path again.

- [eta] A huge hate - when I go to save, for example, a Wordpad file, I have a drop-down box with I think recent folders.  The Browse For Folders button is at the bottom.  When I click the drop-down box at the top, I get, among other things, web URLs.  WHY GOD WHY??

Neh.  More later.  Right now I'm trying to get Korean character codes to display in ACT!, and they are defying me.

An OS, but which one?
