And some days, I need to put the car visor down (when in a car) because the street lights at 01:30 hurt.

My eye is clearly vampiric.

Imagine being anxious and having symptoms of things, which since they are not obviously common things (e.g., a head cold, pneumonia, ebola aids) must mean I'm part hypochondriac and I'm just exacerbating these symptoms -- either on purpose because I want attention, which would be bad, or I'm subconsciously exacerbating things without even knowing it, which is something like infinitely worse, because then I can't trust my own senses and brain to reliably tell me when something about my body is askew, and suddenly I want going-to-the-hospital statistics for people who are anxious.  I imagine way lower and way higher numbers than normal, and not so much in the middle.

Because on the one hand, everything could be A Doomful Health Sign, so that accounts for the high end.  On the other hand, there's the "what if this is normal and I'm blowing it up out of proportion and the doctors will laugh at me and there's no harm in waiting and seeing", which would explain a small portion of ER usage rates.

I still have an eye thing.  I constantly feel like there's something in my eye, for some reason.  (Note: Deadpan humour.)  It seems to get drier faster than my right eye, and said dryness seems more frequent.  If I experience relative brightness, I get anything from an ache in my eye to a mighty need to put my hand over my eye.  (Quite literally.)  I got stabbing pains once else -- have you ever held a book up with one hand for too long, and your pinky fell asleep?  So pins and needles like that, nothing awful at all, except my eye, so a 10x augh bonus.  It's not really going down or away.  The redness comes and goes, but is usually at least marginally present.  If I close my eyes, I can see a wavy spot on my far left.

It's kind of annoying.  Makes it hard to focus on work.

It's probably nothing more than some sort of reaction to me rubbing the hell outta my eye about a week and a half ago, and this neurotic documenting of anything related to my eye is likely useless and possibly embarrassing, as it's hardly dire at all.  And yet, here I am.  Because just in case.

Squick notice for those who don't like eye things.

Last week, I was IMing with [personal profile] rosefox, and I had something in my eye.  My eyelashes really love falling into my eyes, so I rubbed my eye, and I felt a sharp pain, that felt for all the world like a minor tear.  I don't know if it was one, but that's what it felt like.

(Outside corner of my left eye.)

Cue a week of not rubbing it, to the point of sitting on my hands.  Sometimes I had to close my eye, because I'd get random pains in it -- in that corner, in my eye proper, so far as I can tell.  It's been calming down, but it still itches on occasion, and it's still red like red, just in that corner.

Today, I pried away my lids around that corner to see what I could see, because it still feels like there's something non-sharp in my eye.  I expected nothing but redness as usual, but I saw a bump on my eye.  In the... sclera part?  Dr. Google tells me it's at least similar to a pinguecula, only on the outside, not on the side closest to my nose.  (Not that it can't occur &c &c, just that it most frequently occurs &c &c.)

Dr. Google further tells me that unless it becomes a problem (pain or constant irritation, doesn't go away or gets larger, contains bees), to just wait it out and suffer.  Maybe get some eye drops and see if that helps.  I want to get new glasses anyhow, and it's about time for an eye doctor, so if it doesn't get worse but it doesn't go away, I'll get it checked out post-move, when I can &%($ afford it.

Still, augh.

[eta] That area hurts when I look outside on a bright sunny day.  Amazing.
