nonethefewer: A blank, pieced-together jigsaw puzzle. (orderly)
There's a wiki page that outlines the plot of a book. In it, I added a link for a proper name, which had no wiki page; I set the page it linked to to redirect to the correct page. Only, I'm reading the ARC of the next book in the series, and it turns out that due to Plot Reasons™, my linking was -- will be? -- incorrect.

Should I leave the linking as-is until the book is properly out?

My assumption is "of course yes, otherwise you might spoil things!", I think I'm just twitchy about leaving incorrect information up when I currently know better. Maybe I'll make a calendar alert to correct it once the book comes out...

This... I love this.  Via [livejournal.com profile] siderea, Rosetta Code:
Rosetta Code is a programming chrestomathy site. The idea is to present solutions to the same task in as many different languages as possible, to demonstrate how languages are similar and different, and to aid a person with a grounding in one approach to a problem in learning another.

If you're miscellaneously curious, PmWiki is a pretty good personal-use wiki, that has the added benefit of allowing for by-page security settings.  There's a demo here.

Asking here rather than looking deeply because I'm doing five things at once and someone might know.

In MediaWiki (think Wikipedia), when I search on 'Employees', I will get "No article matches, but here, page matches!".  Win.

When I search on "mplo", I get no matches at all.  Fail.

Is there an extension or switch or such to allow for partial matches?  (Yes, I would disable less-than-3-character searches.)

Though I could just add GoogleSiteSearch...

Okayokay back to other things.

MediaWiki is pretty.

Firefox 3 is good for me in that I can search not only on URLs-from-the-beginning-only, but also on the title, and anywhere in the URL.  *omg face*

And the Special:Permissions plugin for MediaWiki is awesomesauce.

Someone in [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes linked to TV Tropes Wiki: "What is this about?: This wiki is a catalogue of the tricks of the trade for writing fiction. We dip into the cauldron of story, whistle up a big hearty spoonful, and splosh it in front of you to devour to your heart's content."

Well, so much for the rest of my Sunday.  *click*  *click*  *click*

I don't know if I've linked to this before, the Choral Public Domain Library: "Begun in December 1998, CPDL is one of the world's largest free sheet music sites. You can use CPDL to find scores, texts, translations, and information about composers."

Essentially, lyricwiki.org for classical/choral music.
