There are a plethora of sites out there about repurposing things for whatever purpose or another.

There's at least one site about making drinks based on what's in your cabinet, and at least one I've heard of about making food based on &c.

Is there one based on "enter what you have, and we'll show you what you could make"?  Or a search function in an existing repurposing site?

I don't want to collect empty containers, but the urge exists.

I imagine such a thing would be harder to create, since craft projects don't have as neat a standardized format as recipes. I suppose you might be able to get some kinda vaguely useful results by Googling "craft projects {foo}" where foo is your so-to-speak main ingredient.

make one! you need two databases - one with a list of supplies for each project, and one with a thesaurus of supplies, so that you can convert incoming project ingredient lists into a canonical form when you store them in the first database. you leave the original ingredient list untouched, but do searches on the canonicalised form as well. should get you most of the way there.
