Man, I dunno, maybe it wouldn't be hard to make my own checkbook thing, given how many completely crappy open source ones there are out there.  I'd have to edit the hell out of them anyhow, sooo.

if you could come up with suitably detailed specs, i'm sure you'll be able to find coders willing to jump onto the bandwagon - there are definitely some of them who want to do something open source but just don't have ideas. let me know if you want to go that route, and i'll signal boost.
