I was going to make a gym-going filter, but then I realised that sometimes I don't want to have fifteen different filters based on fretting about whether others want to read about thing(), where thing() includes (but is not limited to) geeking and knitting.  I'd rather get away with just using an lj-cut when I know I (a) am posting content half of folk don't care about (geek stuff) or (b) am manically squeeful about something and so am posting about it every five goddamn minutes.

So, naturally, a poll.

The main reason I read peoples journals is because I think they have interesting things to say, even if I am not interested in the topic. Putting something behind a cut is a great courtesy as it lets us decide how interested we are. If we don't want to read it, it is easy to skip, if we do want to read it, even though it is outside our normal interests, it is easy to click the link.

How is that for a decisive response?

In point of fact, if it's something I'm not into I can just scroll past the text - no lj-cut necessary. Not that gym stuff is, but yanno.
