What did I actually get done:

- I got a bit of music on my laptop.  Just some Aimee Mann and other soft stuff, so that I have something to listen to sometimes.  Later, I'll be raiding B's and my collections of classical music.

- I installed the MySQL GUI tools, and got that up and running.  canyouseeme.org is a nice site for checking to see if a port is really open.  I also put the PHP files into a PHP folder, which I thought I'd done, but apparently not.

- I found that NisCmd file.  Triple-awesome.  I plan to write a hell of a batch file for muting sounds, emptying the Recycle Bin, and generally cleaning things up, then rebooting the computer.  I also changed the logging in Windows from minimalist to moderate (can't remember the real terms - kernel something), for any future crashes.

- I am five and a half rows away from finishing the second skully!  Next steps - weave in the ends, then block like a mofo.  The clerk at my LYS advised that I put a towel (or in this case, a couple of towels - it's 4' long) on the floor, pin the shit out of the piece onto the floor, put damp towels over the piece, and iron the towels.  This is good, for lo, due to having cats that have no qualms about wreaking havoc, I was worried as to where the hell I was going to block this.  Weaving in ends has also never been my cup of tea, but that's not as hard - I plan to weave them where I can (where they'll be least unsightly), then get some as-matching-as-possible thread and sew the ends, since honestly, I've never trusted woven ends to stay that way.  News at 11.

- I mostly fixed an error in my knitting spreadsheet.  *purr*  I want to write a nice macro in Excel-proper that will get all sorts of input regarding a knitting project, then will spit out a workbook that's useable for tracking progress and that's compliant with Google Spreadsheet's restrictions (such as "we don't have no steenking macros").

- Many pleasant chat convos, yes.

- I went a few blocks over and unloaded a few items.  Hooray for places who'll give me cash for things.  Later, Craigslist.  I'm really really tired of my slovenly packrat tendencies.  (I have never liked having $object, so why do I still have it??)  In other news, must find a scanner for photos.  I'm also tired of having photo albums.

- I cleaned a bit, which was nice.

- In conclusion, the moment skully drops off these needles, I'm picking up this skirt.  I'm using different yarn (their gauge is 22s = 4" @ US5, mine for this yarn is 18s = 4" @ US8, and the needles I have are US7), so I'll have to swatch a bit first.  I'm using, according to the label, Blue Lustre, though what I have seems to be a trifle lighter than that.  If I am awesome, I will switch colours halfway through to Periwinkle Blue (my ass that's periwinkle), or maybe a third of 1, 2, and Dye.  *glee*
