With this visit¹, this makes five women I've seen in person who (a) don't shave their legs, and yet (b) still have less hair on their legs than me.  I must've been spliced with a freakin' bear in the womb, or something.  A bear with a watermelon head².

1] I'm in New York in the summer.

2] I joke that I was spliced with a watermelon in the womb, which explains my gargantuan, default-hat-useless head.

If you are crossposting from DW to LJ, please consider enabling display of the crossposted link.  It's not some wretched deal-killer or anything, it's just that I want to get to the LJ post quicker than going to the individual LJ, or keeping the person on my default view in both sites.

I'm currently using Mediawiki at work, but I want something... better.

Some of the criteria that I remember:

* Freely editable by users, with a history of edits.
* Ability to restrict it to login-only access.
* A proper admin panel, with proper user management.
* Tags, or categories, or similar.  Basic organisation.
* Better searchability.
* An RTE, if possible.
* Runs using MySQL and PHP.  (The server is CentOS, so.)

The current issues I'm having with Mediawiki, so you can see where I'm coming from:

* Any time I upgrade MW, I have to go to each individual extension's page and see if the extension is compatible.
* Oftentimes they're not, and I have to either test the hell out of it myself, or disable it.  And I don't install these things for my bloody health.
* Every single part of user management, from groups to resetting passwords, annoys all of the fuck outta me.

Bah.

I think you are not the only woman to have been spliced with a bear. Not only do I have lots of hair on my body, I seem to have been attempting to hibernate this week (it's winter, here).

Out of curiosity, why would you want to get to the LJ version of the post? To see comments (on journals where LJ commenting is enabled)? Other reason?

Comments, almost entirely.  There are still folk who comment on the LJ-versions, and in at least three cases off the top of my head, there are frequently way more comments there than here.  I'd rather they comment here, of course, but since I can't bend the world to my whims*, here I am.

Ah! Excellent. My LJ has commenting disabled (I don't like going there thanks to LJ's entirely obnoxious video ads), so I will not feel guilty for not wanting the crosspost link cluttering up my pretty, minimalist posts <3 TY!
