You know, just the other day I was thinking about how complacent we get about the shit we go through to stay on LJ.  And then woo, shitstorm!

Short version: According to what I can find so far, there's this group, Warriors for Innocence, that's little more than a fundie vigilante group.  They've pressured the hell out of LJ/SA to kill journals/communities that have "really bad no-good awful" interests or content.  LJ/SA, true to form, has caved to their pressure, and then isn't speaking up about what the hell's going on.

* [livejournal.com profile] liz_marcs wrote an email (or some such) to a Warriors for Innocence person.  They respond.  Lots of good linkage there.

* Also, she collects a huge huge list of pertinent information.

* See, it's one part sheer outrage, and two parts blatant inconsistency.  Start reading the [livejournal.com profile] news post roundabout here for complaints about this.

* [livejournal.com profile] catrinella also lists a whole bunch of information.

I am not going to start with censorship stuff, because it's not a US-government-related issue.  Nor am I going to start getting too outraged until I hear more about this - there are too many rumours zipping about, and LJ/SA is doing the usual fuckass "Let's play mute until everybody's good and pissed!" thing.  However, my paid account is up in a week, and I will not be renewing, nor do I desire that anyone get me this as a gift.

I'm clearly still here, and it'd be a huge messy process to move from here to somewhere else.  I like the filtering system, if nothing else, and you know, everybody's here.  So I'm going to be patient and see how this whole thing plays out, as usual.  But I do not care to support a company that has a proven track record of never fucking talking to its users about what the living fuck is going on today.  Hooray, they're a company!  They can learn that the best way not to piss off its users is to talk to them!

Of course, where's the incentive in that?

Okay, it's still morning, shut up.

I just saw a guy from my last place of employment - the place from that I was fired.  (sic)

It was overall pleasant (I always liked him fine), part awkward due to the obvious, and mildly awkward in my head because he is wicked cute.

Startlingly, my eye is more easily caught by those who look more like me than otherwise.  (Brunette, light skin, blue or green eyes.)

More LJ awesome.

If you like style=mine or format=light, see these instructions for making that a bookmark button.

Gladfors.

(a) I'm glad for Firefox, in that if LJ is failing to send a comment or post through, I can just hit Reload, hit OK for resubmitting the info, and it'll go through.  (Eventually.)

(b) I'm glad for Wednesdays, because that means karaoke, and that also means not being irritated by LJ being slow* today.

* I am infinite, and am capable of both sympathising with the reasons and being irritated by it.
