Gaaah.

When I play games like Nethack or ADOM, or Pool of Radiance, or whatever, I skew towards strong characters.  I don't have the patience to learn the finesse and craftiness needed for playing a wizard or rogue or whatever.  I want me some mighty thews, dammitall.

So why, why, did I think it'd be totally brilliant to play a wizard in this Dresden Files game I'm in?  I'm running right into my lack of knowledge based on lack of research, and it both shows and frustrates.  (Though Josh assures me that I'm more frustrated with me than anyone else, so that's okay.)  It seriously took me three tries to understand "shifts", for example.

So, this week, among other things, I'll be studying thaumaturgy and the DF-RPG game system, with Josh around to assist.  (He reads gaming books like I read tech manuals, so he's well-suited to helping me get this.)
