Let's take Brief Lives, where Dream and Delirium go on a quest to find Destruction. At one point, Destiny is reading his book, and he flips to the page that shows them going to the cliff, where Orpheus is...
...and then next scene, and Dream and Delirium are going to the cliff, &c.
Interesting thing of note:
When Dream and Delirium are going to the cliff, in the boat, the narrative text is the same as the text in Destiny's book.
Which lends me to believe that Destiny isn't just seeing events in the book - he's seeing the book's events. He's breaking the fourth wall, in a weird way.
Highly neat*.
