It should not be this hard to find an automatic curtain opener.

$300 or more?!?  I just want one motor that I can plug into a timer, for heaven's sake!

If I knew the first thing about motors, I'd just make one and be done with it.  I don't need a timer, I just need it to go one way (until it stops) in the morning, and the other way (&c) in the evening.

Maybe I'll just knit translucent curtains, instead.  May be faster.
