Ah, NBC.com, bless you for airing your shows for free online.

A quick thing:

Thompson, the boss of Glasses-Guy (who is the adoptive father of Claire), is played by Eric Roberts, who is the pimp fellow in the video "Mr Brightside" (YouTube) by The Killers.

THERE.

Onwards.

- I grinned like a fiend when it turned out that Peter wasn't dead.

- Wait... how does Sylar have the Weirding voice?  Didn't Eden (?) kill herself before he could acquire it?

- OH GODDAMN this is why I hate watching shows in real-time.

Peter may well have been dead; he didn't wake up until Claire came. And I thought Sylar had killed Eden -- did I miss an indication that she killed herself?

I think I meant more "turned out to not be dead", which may also include "came back from the dead".

My understanding was that Eden went to force Sylar to kill himself, but he crashed through the window to get to her.  She tried to shoot him, but hooray for telekinesis, so she shot herself instead, hence the shot and the blood (the actual killing was off-screen).  Here's the TV.com recap (http://www.tv.com/heroes/fallout/episode/908610/recap.html), though I can't just yet find any official word on what happened.  (As in, it seems to be one of those obvious things, but since the shooting happened off-screen, it's hard to be 100% certain without writerly backup.)

Ah, OK. It seemed to me that he forced her to kill herself (forced telekinesis). In which case we can assume that he also forced her to do it in a way that allowed him to acquire her power, however it is that he does it.

But then, there are so many plot holes with regard to Sylar that I've suspended my disbelief there a long time ago. :)

I got the same feeling. She knew that she had screwed up and was dead either way, so by shooting herself she got both a faster/more painless exit and also was able to deprive Sylar of her tasty, tasty brains.

However, we don't really know how many people Sylar has consumed, or what abilities he has.

He has healed without her around but neither he, nor claire can heal when they have something in their brains. We saw that from claire when she was assaulted by that kid at school and woke up in the morgue when the antler (or something) was removed from her head. Same deal here but only claire knew he could heal and knew how it worked.

Im pretty sure Eden killed herself though. Her power was at the top of the heap. If he had her power he would be unstoppable. He would have simply gotten the list and gone about getting everyone powers. The voice he uses seems to be related to his telekenisis. He used that voice when attacking Claire (before he met eden) and Peter used it when using telekinesis on Isac.

Its interesting how things have folded back on themselves in this show. I used to figure the reason they had to save claire was to keep sylar from getting his power so that they could stop him, but now I suspect it was so that peter would acquire her power.
