Gah.  I am in search of this small instrumental thing that I was sure was The Carpenters, but perhaps I am wrong.

I note ahead of time that I haven't even thought about musical notation in over a decade, and I wasn't all that good at it at the time, so I may have fucked something up.  Still, this gets the point across, I hope.

I put this together using this Flash piano, Wikipedia, and crossing my fingers.

There's an undercurrent thing playing along with, but it's "note-chord-[hold]", and I can't remember the notes, and can't parse out the chord well enough.

The last note above only holds for about 6 measures; it probably trails off at some point.  The note-chord-[hold] bit is constant.  In the second beat of three in the sixth measure, a new melody starts up, that overlaps with the one above, but since it overlaps, alls I remember is the first three measures (of six, where the last holds for forever), not the full melody:

So, all together, for the bits that overlap:

Damn.  Why can't I find this?

...and why am I spending so much time on this?  *wry*
