Why are there ants in the bathroom?

I'm not even upset, I'm just... extremely puzzled.

Part of it is because that's one of the windows that faces the outdoors (we have back and right-side windows, and the back leads into a quasi-garden), but mostly I want to know what on earth has been attracting them.

In the meantime, the tub is your standard tub, with that... that... I don't know.  It looks like a shortish plastic trim, on the outside, where the tub meets the floor?  I can't find a good picture.  Anyhow, there's a gap, and I've noticed the ants tend to hide in there.  I don't think they're necessarily coming from there, but I've been considering caulking it shut, just in case.

I get ants in the bathroom too, not entirely sure why. I use the borax and sugar ant bait/poison method described here (http://www.birdsnways.com/wisdom/ww36eii.htm). Safe for humans and pets.
