I had a dream that a couple of people and I were trying to thwart the end of the world using lasers and a mirror, but I did it wrong (I had bad information), and so the world ended.

How it ended was... apparently, that whole spiritual idea of us all being interconnected?  Yeah, that was actual-real, in that we were all connected to everything - the rocks, the trees, people, and so forth, all bound together in an invisible but very real sense.  The end of the world was that bond completely dissolving, so everything went apart, or awry, or something.  Not like everything floated away, just... some combination of the Tower of Babel writ large and gunslinger Roland's world ("the world had moved on").  We were bewildered and lost, everyone and everything alone together.

And then I woke up.
